In vitro fertilization is the procedure of obtaining the embryos outside the body, by putting in contact of the female sexual cell – oocyte with the masculine sexual cells – spermatozoa, in lab special conditions. Semen analysis is a lab procedure which establishes the possible causes for male infertility.

Sperm preparation is a lab procedure to separate the viable, mobile and good quality spermatozoa  from the seminal liquid, leukocytes and bacterial flora. Only the prepared sperm can be used for  intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) or  intracytoplasmic injection (ICSI).

The Assisted Human Reproduction Program within our clinic is equipped for cryopreservation of quality embryos, obtained but not transferred after the fertilization cycle.

Embryos are frozen using some special environments for these procedure and the frozen machine, in liquid nitrogen. . . .

The in vitro fertilization laboratory within the Fertility Center offers services of cryopreservation of the semen, having all the necessary means to ensure over 80% viability after defrosting.

The sperm bank of the laboratory freezes and storages the sperm only to be used for the couple.

Cryopreservation of the sperm can be required by the patients or done as an indication of the doctor. . . .
