OOCYTES PREPARATION

The oocytes harvested by endovaginal ecoguided puncture are brought to the lab for identification, quality estimation and preparation in order to be fertilized with the partner?s prior selected spermatozoa (sperm preparation).
For oocytes preparation we use specialized culture environments and high performance lab equipments.
Oocytes identification is done using the stereo microscope found in the sterile laminar air flux hood.
The identified and cleaned from excess of cumulus oocytes are kept in the constant temperature and controled atmosphere incubator until they are fertilized.
A particulary method for oocytes preparation is applied in the ICSI procedure, in which the oocytes are completely denudated by the surrounding cellular mass ( cumulus ), using enzymes and fine denudation capillars, under 200 microns in diameter.
